Ry Russo-Young Orphans and Ronnie Bronstein's Frownland, which shared a grand jury prize at the 2007 SXSW Film Festival and may have finally put to bed that horribly inadequate term for the type of DIY filmmaking known as mumblecore, are both worth mentioning today - Orphans was just released on DVD this past Tuesday from filmmakers Ashley Sabin and David Redmon's new label Carnivalesque Films. Bronstein's unforgettable movie screens today at BAM. He'll be there for a Q&A following the 6:50pm screening.
