Quick Screening Tip - Wavelength

Hey there. After a short hiatus producing a pair of shorts and finishing my own forthcoming mini-narrative, the CEC is back this week. For starters, know that Michael Snow's seminal 1968 structuralist film Wavelength is screening tonight at MOMA and later this week at Anthology Film Archives. Constructed to seem as if it's one, long, forty minute zoom across a single SoHo loft, the film, which was made with the participation of such underground cinema luminaries as Hollis Frampton and Film Comment critic Amy Taubin, is something of a turning point in the history of the New American Cinema (by a Canadian no less) and is as aesthetically challenging as any film you'll ever see.
